Early (1842) illustrated broadside for PATENTED WOOD PLANING MACHINE w/ testimonials from users. Letter from inventor to his brother advising that he sold the business to his forman and asked his bother to put all his property and money in shape that no trustee can reach it. There is a rumor that the rag cloth has failed!

1855 New Orleans Price Current published semi-weekly contains a business and personal letter from G.W. Olivers & Co., cotton brokers and is addressed to Paul A. Oliver & Co., their client in New York.  Mentions the burning of two large class river boats, the MAYFLOWER and the COLLIER  with the wharf boat at Memphis which may temporarily reduce receipts "but other boats will soon replace them"  Franked w/ letter rate postage (3 cent circular rate 1000 to 1500 miles)  Stamp cut close both sides but shows outer frame line of adjoining stamps top and bottom.  Grid cancel in black not tied, but the stamp undoubtedly belongs.  The New Orleans postmark in red has faint Dec. 6.

Dec. 22, 1920 dated Christmas postcard franked with OFFSET 1c Washington Perf 12 1/2 (Sc. 536) tied by "Twin Falls Idaho" duplex postmark & sent to Creston, Iowa. Stamp with small scuff @ bottom. This stamp was issued in response to the reinstatement of the 1c pre-war postcard rate on July 1, 1919, which had been raised to 2c on Nov. 2, 1917. An important postal history item. Evidence of the distribution of this stamp which is rare on cover. Possibly the only surviving cover from Idaho. Our Price....$265.00
